My pal Mike Rohrig and I were at it again recently, out to show you what kind of areas are eligible for USDA financing in Washington County, Oregon. This time, we visited Cornelius and Forest Grove:
USDA financing – the basics
So the basics of USDA financing are pretty simple. This home loan program is the only financing option for non-veterans that does not require a downpayment. It is designed for people of moderate income, with income limits being designated by region. You can check out the income limits for USDA financing eligibility in Oregon right here on my blog.
The USDA home loan is designed to serve borrowers in “rural” areas, as defined by some census from ages ago.
I have shown time and again that many of these areas in Oregon and Washington are not desolate areas in which you may be forced into a game of roshambo to find out “who’s for dinner”.
USDA financing – Property Eligibility
Some of the homes we looked at in areas of Forest Grove that are eligible for USDA financing actually may exceed the value limits set by the USDA. It is always advisable to consult with the USDA’s property eligibility map to find out if the area or house you are looking for actually qualify for USDA financing. Or if you want, shoot me an email and I am happy to do it for you!
I will be heading out as much as I can to show you more areas of Oregon and Washington that are eligible for USDA financing. It’s a great loan program, and I encourage to read more about it if you are looking to buy a home in Oregon or Washington.
