The last few months have been kind of crazy around these parts.
I’ve been “emotionally unavailable”. Well, not really. Just busy.
I haven’t been reading as many of my friends’ blogs. I haven’t been as “engaged” online. I can’t remember the last time I went to one of my regular networking functions.
Times are a’ changin’
Without going into too much detail, I have spent a lot of my time getting a lot of my content back on this site after the “great ninja controversy of 2010“.
After much work, this is my 60th post.
Before my “snafu”, I had 140 posts. Still some ground to make up, but I have refocused myself to a certain extent. I have been trying to pump out the useful home loan information as much as I can. In fact, I got really caught up in catching up.
Sometimes though, there’s just too damn much.
Too much change to underwriting guidelines.
Too much work from people coming to this site (THANK YOU!)
Too much family stuff (THANK GOD!)
Yesterday though, a funny thing happened. I decided to share my new favorite app for Android (read that here) instead of writing about mortgage stuff.
The response was overwhelming.
So overwhelming, in fact, that I decided maybe it would be good to share things I know that aren’t about financing Real Estate. There’s one or two of those things.
After all, what good is all of this if it doesn’t speak to you? If it doesn’t help you?
Other developments
Some other things are happening too. I started a podcast. It’s not going to be for everyone. Especially easily offended types and kids. But, I think it’ll be a fun way for me to blow off some steam. It won’t all be Real Estate; part Portland, part Vancouver, part politics. It’ll be a lot of things, hopefully all of them entertaining.
I changed my Twitter bio after reading this post from my friend about Aaron Hockley. The post is about what Aaron would do different if he could start over again on Twitter. It inspired me to tell the Twitterverse this about myself:
I think that sums up what my Twitter stream, this website, and my approach to life in general. Thanks Aaron!
Speaking of Twitter, my good friend Nick Church let me know today that the handle “@homeloanninja” was available. I had previously been “@homeloan_ninja”. So, I dropped the underscore. Thanks Nick!
But enough about me…
What’s been going on with you? What news do you bring? What are you working on? Who the hell is that new guy you’ve been seeing? Drop me a line at jason@mypmb.us and let’s catch up.
And coffee is a must-do soon.
