Thanks for visiting my site. My name is Jason Hillard, and I have been in the mortgage industry in Oregon and Washington since 2005. I like to tell people that I have had a front row view of the train wreck.
It has certainly been a wild ride.
I started this site because I found myself yelling at the TV or my computer when the media was reporting on the mortgage industry, or some new law designed to “protect” the consumer. The state of home loan education in this country is pathetic. I spend a good deal of my time at work explaining the ins and outs of home loans to borrowers who have been misinformed, if not outright lied to. So I thought to myself:
“why not create a resource for consumers, Real Estate Agents, and frankly anyone who cares, to become educated BEFORE they decide to buy a home or refinance their mortgage?”
The goal of this site is to provide information to help you make better decisions. There will never be anyrosy BS, deceptive information, rate quotes, etc. Examples will be used, when appropriate, to give you a better idea of what is happening in the REAL WORLD.
I am always looking to improve the quality of information available here, so make sure to subscribe for updates via RSS or email. I also have a newsletter you can sign up for. You will not get spammed though, as I will only send out a newsletter about once a month, and it will be an extension of the information found here.
This site is about education, not kool-aid or fear-mongering. That’s the ninja guarantee.
